Rapid Mixer Granulator
Rapid Mixer Granulator is designed to achieve excellent mixing and consistent granules at lower operating cost along with higher productivity. Better mixing and closed control of granule size leads to faster tableting speeds with improved quality and least rejections.

SALIENT FEATURES:
Homogeneous binder distribution.
Short batch time and reduce cleaning time.
Maximize CIP effectiveness.
Air purge sealing system for main stirrer shaft and granulator shaft.
All internal contact parts are polished to the mirror finish.
PLC based operating panel for precise control of process & automation.
A high-speed granulator is inserted horizontally through wall of bowl to assist blending of powder and to break the product to the granules of required size.
The seal housing and drive shaft may be flushed with cleaning water, which is then drained away from the machinery through built in drain tubes.
Granulator motor is provided with a removable stainless steel shroud which covers the motor and simplify cleaning.
All moving parts of the machinery are totally enclosed to eliminate accident.
The machine can not be started unless and until the mixer cover is properly closed.
All contact parts are made out of SS304. SS316 provided on demand on extra cost.
Flush wall type discharge valve eliminates pockets at the port of discharge valve.
GENERAL SPECIFICATION

MIXING BOWL & COVER:

S.S. 304 bowl design in three sections i.e Flat bottom, Cylindrical mid portion and conical top portion for efficient mixing operation & provided with counter balanced lid. Lid provided with vents, view ports & charging openings.

MAIN IMPELLER & DRIVE:

The main impeller consists of dual speed 750/1500 synchronous dual HP TEFC motor, coupled through a belt drive to a worm reduction gearbox with chain coupling. The impeller is designed to provide mixing at the bottom and at the centre of the bowl and is driven through a specially designed bearing housing that facilities inside wash facility for quick change over and also prevents leakage of powder from bottom entry and leads to longer life of gear box.

CHOPPER:

The chopper drive consists of dual HP Dual speed (1440/2800 synchronous speed) TEFC MOTOR. The motor shaft is of S.S. and the chopper has specially designed 4 blade S.S. Impeller. The shaft is integral with the motor. The assembly mounted horizontally into the bowl.

DISCHARGE PORT:

The discharge port is mounted horizontally into the bowl with vertical downward opening. The opening is operated by pneumatic cylinder and discharged can be regulated for required opening.

MOUNTING:

A sturdy M.S. channel frame is used to house the drive assemblyat the bottom. The bowl is mounted on the top. A S.S. staircase and railings are provided for the platform. The platform is half covered with S.S, dimpled plates. For safe movement of operater and the area under the bowl is covered with S.S.

The entire body is covered from the sides by suitable S.S. covers.

NOTE: For RMG 25, Which is a lab model working platform, staircase and railing is not provided. The operator can ascess the machine from the ground level of the machine. Also the entire mounting is covered with S.S

CONTROL PANEL:

The control panel is mounted on platform and is provided with

* Actuators for ON/OFF , slow , fast operation.
* Auto / manual controls.
* Timer.
* Indicator Lights.
* Ammeter/ voltmeter for both motors.
* Controls for discharge opening / closig.
* Air regulator & Pressure guage & air filter.

Optionally a PLC based control Panel can be Provided.

MAIN PANEL:

Main panel consists of all rewired connections and it has only to be connected to the electrical supply. The circuits consists of MCCB and the relay. Wires coming our of the connections are numbered for easy recognition.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

1. Air purged shaft seals eliminating powder entering the seal.
2. Built in cleaning system for both shaft seals.
3. Layouts to suit individual requirements possible.

5. Fenner taper lock pulley on main drive to reduce vibration and better transmission efficiency.
6. Main Bearing Housing provided with 3 nos Oil Seals and sleeve to minimize powder leakages / cross contamination.
7. Chopper motor with built in S.S. shaft to eliminate roller, bearings and reduce maintenance.
8. Main panel provided with pressure switch control for proper functioning of the machine at desired pressure of air only to prevent powder entry into impeller and eliminates jamming of impellers.
9. Circuit provided with interlock contactors so that chopper cannot operate directly , independently.
10. Discharge plunger provided with 3 position solenoid valve to open and close at desired levels, thereby regulating the discharge and preventing discharge of large lumps.
11. Pneumatic circuit provided with non return valve and water inlet./ outlet connections for facilitate washing of the main impeller assembly without dismantling, to facilitate faster change over.

SAFETY FEATURES:

1. Locking arrangement for motor to eliminate accidentally starting with open lid.
2. Enclosed moving parts.

PNEUMATIC SYSTEM:

The pneumatic systems requires air pressure of 3 to 5 Kgs/sq cm. It is used for Operating the discharge valve (opening & closing) Air purging of chopper drive and main impeller drive to prevent cross contamination. The system consists of an air filter pressure gauge a 2 way solenoid valve (for discharge valve) and other pipes ferules & pneumatic fittings.

PROCESS UNIT

  • The process unit is two piece, made of stainless steel of SS-304 GRADE.
  • The process unit is single piece made of  SS 304.
  • The finish employed externally will be all welds ground back and polished into the surrounding materials.
  • All of the external surfaces of the Dryer and all non contact/sight parts will prepared with a uniform fine texture matt finish.
  • All of the product contact surface (SS-304) are mirror finished.
  • Particular attention has been paid to reduce any source of material Entrapment by mirror polishing flush all welds to create crevice free profiles both internally and externally.
  • The expansion chamber containing the filter finger bags & dished end are made of single piece construction from SS-304/316 quality steel. Below that is the retarding chamber made out of S.S. 304 Retarding chamber is locked with the explosion chamber by means of clamps. The length of the retarding chamber is such designed , thereby providing extra large heat exchange are which exposed each and every particle or the charged batch in the Fluidized air resulting in instant drying.
  • Specially designed base is provided for air vortex effect and to give added strength.
  • A central drain is provided in the base to release wash water.

BOWL/ PRO DUCT CONTAINER

  • Product bowl is a conical shaped manufactured form SS-304 grade stainless steel having stainless steel mesh support along with fine finish air mesh.
  • The product container Trolley is of Tubular construction made form SS-304 pipe mounted on polypropylene castor wheel (2nos fixed & 2nos. Swivel for maneuverability ) which imparts rigidity to carry the product container with the charged load.
  • The batch loading capacity is always higher in case of “BOMBAY” Fluid Bed dryer, because of better fluidization by varying the frequent shaking of the finger bags. Shaking period vary depending on the nature of products.

RUBBER GASKET

A solid ‘D' shaped food type silicon rubber gasket is provided in the groove of the flanged joint (between the product container and the retarding chamber) to prevent any leakage of air with fines during operation

UNIFORM LIFTING OF CONTAINER

Product container is lifted by specially designed arrangement with the help of one centrically fitted pneumatic cylinder which ensures uniform lifting throughout the periphery of the container which ultimately gives uniform upward pressure to the solid ‘D' shaped Rubber Gasket, thereby preventing any leakage during operation.

AUTO SHAKING DEVICE

Pneumatic cylinder is used for auto shaking device of the finger bags is mounted on the body and is fitted with a wire rope made out of S.S. 304 guided by pulleys thus rendering the shaking extremely efficient. It also brings down the finger bags to such a level that these can be inspected very easily form the bottom of the retarding chamber. If the shaking is not efficient , the particles will be retained in the finger bags and there will be no proper fluidization resulting in formation of lumps in the products container.

AIR HANDLING UNIT

Blower and filter with heating arrangement are housed in the rear chamber . They can also be housed the services zone to avoid sound pollution as well as to avoid interference of the maintenance people in the production zone.

Centrifugal type blower fan with dynamically balanced impeller and backward curved blades.
All Stainless steel construction.
Direct coupled non—flameproof electric drive. Anti –vibration mounting and independent sub-support frame.
  :: Air filter
Free standing unit constructed from aluminium anodized frame work (SS-304) with doubled skinned panels. All wall panels are cross based for added strength . Quick release panels provided for inspection and maintenance access.
The air intake section has a full face external flange for attachment of angle intact, or and extended inlet air duct.
Inlet system compressing of 20Micron washable filter. followed by 5 micron pre filter, then pass through , heating coil section containing a full air duct steam operated heater battery, constructed with stainless steel tubes and headers and a steel casing (SS-304). The moving process air passes through the steam heater to achieve the desired temperature. to match the inlet to the processing unit.
PT 100 temperature sensing probe will be fitted into the air Transition duct and will be connected up to the control panel.

EXPLOSION VENT

As per international practices the equipment is provided with a rapture disc as measures of explosion Vent, Tested at 2 Bar pressure, mounted on the side of the dryer.

EARTHING DEVICE

A std designed earthing device spring type is provided with the dryer however intrinsically safe earthing device with low voltage relay is also available.

ELECTRO PNEUMATIC CONTROL PANEL

A free stading steel control panel having the following controls.

  • Inlet air temperature controller.
  • Exhaust air temperature indicator
  • Product bowl lifting & lowering valve.
  • Process air Damper regulation
  • Blower motor, start & stop.

  • Filter bag shaking timer

PROGRAMME LOGIC CONTROL SYSTEM
